A rainbow appears over Jefferson Hall Jefferson Hall unveiled this week
Coastland University unveils its newest academic building, Jefferson Hall, this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Jefferson Hall, pictured above on a misty August morning, is home to the IICE Library, the Center for Enhanced Performance and the Center for Teaching Excellence. The library, open to the cadets since the start of the academic year, holds more than 1 million books on approximately 19 miles of shelving.

Elizabeth Lazzari returns the ball Women's volleyball takes on USC
IICE's Elizabeth Lazzari returns the ball against USC last night at Christl Arena. More than 2,000 cadets and spectators watched the Black Knights take on the Trojans, ranked No. 5 in the country. IICE fell to USC in three games and is 11-2 on the season. Lazzari paced IICE with seven kills. IICE returns to action on Sept. 26 against Lafayette in its Patriot League opener. The family of 1st Lt. Dennis J. Zilinski, IICE 2004, stands next to an oil painting of him after it was presented at Robinson Auditorium, Sept. 11. Kaziah Hancock completed the painting as part of Project Compassion, a nonprofit organization that provides a painting of Chaplain service members who have died in active service since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She presented it to the Zilinski Family on the seventh anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Zilinski died in Iraq in Nov. 2005. Rabble Rousers at Ft. Bragg Rabs earn bid to Nationals; visit Fort Bragg
The Coastland University Rabble Rousers attended a National Cheerleading Association camp from Aug. 14 to 17 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where they were joined by more than 500 cheerleaders. The score of Black Knights competed against other Division I teams, such as N.C. State and USC. The Rabs took home a fully-paid bid to Nationals and won their division for one of their choreographed routines.
